Heather Luciani

Prior to yoga teacher training, I actually had little experience with the physical practice of yoga (the poses), but I was unknowingly practicing some of the other limbs of yoga for years. I don’t have a specific “ah-ha” moment that led me to become a yoga teacher, it feels more like a culmination of moments I spent working on myself to be the best version of me. I completed my 200 hour YTT at Radiance Yoga in May of 2022. In addition to being an acute care (hospital level) Occupational Therapist and Yoga Instructor, I am also a Level II Reiki Practitioner and believe deeply in using a holistic approach when working with others.

My favorite part of yoga is that there are eight limbs to practice. My niche is to interweave yoga philosophy with modern yoga asanas (AKA, poses). While yoga philosophy can sound intense and intimidating, I do my best to make it accessible and relatable to all of my students, with the hopes of integrating what we learn on the mat, to life off the mat, as well. My goal is to help others help themselves, to give you the tools for life.

Students in my classes can expect themes! I spend ample time both choosing and preparing themes for my classes. Examples of themes include the season, astrology, a limb of yoga, a holiday, the moon cycle, I could go on forever. I find that guiding students through a flow linked with a theme is a beautiful and accessible way for students to integrate yoga into their daily lives. Students can also expect to deepen their body awareness, link breath to movement for a moving meditation, and to bring their attention to the present moment. I encourage all students to listen to their body’s, as they are our own best teachers, and to move with intent and consciousness rather than on autopilot. My favorite class to teach is Rad Foundational Flow. This class is an all levels flow, the intent is to move gently, slowly, unhurriedly, which is vastly different from the priority of modern society. Moving slowly is hard, because we aren’t used to it, which is exactly why this class is so special to me. This class includes options for poses, as well as ample cueing for alignment. I teach Rad Foundational Flow and Rad Power Flow, regardless of the class, I strive to provide a safe and comfortable environment for you to explore and nourish this relationship with yourself. I hope to see you on the mat sometime soon!
