1) What do you love most about Yoga?
For me Yoga is a state of being comprised of the mind, body, spirit, etc. What a person achieves as that state is up to them. I see practices, like asana (postures) or meditation, as what leads to that state of being. The state of Yoga is awareness and truth of who I am in relation to all things in my life at any given moment. It is a place to come home to and as you already know “there’s no place like home.”

2) What is your favorite pose & why?
Recently, garudasana, the eagle, finds it’s way into my practice. It twists several points of the body but requires a one-pointedness and ease of the mind to relax and go deeper into it.

3) What do you think is distinctive about your class?
I don’t believe any one teacher’s class is better than the next. What I do believe is that there is a teacher for each person.  It is important for me to live what I practice beyond the 75 minutes I teach at a given studio. I hope my appeal to students is in the way I invite awareness of self as it may reflect behavior off the mat. There are principles of everyday living and how we respond to life that reveal themselves through each movement and breath and the thoughts that follow on the mat. I invite that self-awareness with radical compassion into each class.
